summerThe first week of January, our organization went to El Paso,Texas and brought back six beautiful Golden Retrievers from a rescue group who had more Goldens than homes for them.  All of these beautiful dogs are now in their forever homes with the exception of Summer, a 4-year old beauty who has just undergone surgery to remove a tumor which may or may not be malignant.  To date, Summer’s vet bills have exceeded $1,500, and she is now an AGR Diamond in the Ruff.  Your contributions will help to pay for Summer’s medical bills and for our other rescues who require veterinary care.

Please join Arizona Golden Rescue at the "People Saving Pets Walk" February 19, 2012 at Tempe Town Lake, Tempe AZ.  If you can't make it to the event you still help by making a contribution.

***Our Mission Statement***

Arizona Golden Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c) (3), charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden Retriever mixes that may have been abused, abandoned, neglected, unwanted, or surrendered by their owners due to previously unforeseen circumstances and to find new, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated. They are also microchipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm.   The rescued dogs are then placed into  Foster homes or  "Foster With Intent To Adopt" homes till they are permanently placed with their new "Forever Homes."  Arizona Golden Rescue is a "Non-Shelter Rescue" with all dogs staying in Foster homes till adopted.

***What we do for the Dogs***

Arizona Golden Rescue  provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for all medications and for necessary surgeries prior to adoptions being finalized. If "Bonded Pairs" that fit our criteria are surrendered to AGR  we will guarantee that the pairs will stay together. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.

If you are interested in adopting a Rescued Golden Retriever or Golden Retriever Mix, the best way for us to find just the right dog for you is to fill out the Online Adoption Application form under "Info & Forms" so that we may contact you to start the process.  Their is no obligation for any payment or to adopt by filling out the application.

***Where we Operate***

Arizona Golden Rescue's  rescue efforts are concentrated in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, but we will take dog's from all areas of the state and sometimes even from out of state.  Arizona residents will be given priority as potential adoptive families.  However, we will consider an out-of-state adoption if there is no approved in-state family that matches a particular rescued dog.
