Dakota is a mellow 5 year old golden/lab mix that had to be turned in because the owners were moving in two weeks and could not take him with them.   He was immediately snapped up by a family who were looking for a dog just like Dakota.  Dakota was neutered and then moved to his forever home where he met the resident cats and ignored them. His new family says, "After celebrating our first wedding anniversary and buying our first home, my husband and I felt it was finally time to find our first dog!  Although we both work long days, we felt our active lifestyle could provide a loving home to a middle aged golden.  We contacted AGR and soon welcomed Dakota into our home.  Dakota is between four and five years old and from the minute he entered our home he has brought nothing but love to our family….even our two cats!  He loves his early morning walks, playing catch with the football, and going for afternoon runs.  He has become a great alarm clock by licking my face in the morning, and a wonderful companion at night when he is content just laying at our feet.  He even insists that he is a 95 lbs lap dog!  AGR has been wonderful in educating us in how to care for a golden and how to create a happy golden home.  We are so happy Dakota has found his final home with us and look forward to all the happiness and memories he will bring to our family!"
