09-013 jake at golf tournamentJake, an older boy who loves to talk to everyone, came into rescue because his family could not afford his medical expenses and they themselves had medical concerns.  Jake had several medical problems, most taken care of while in foster care: a growth on his eye, a lump under his eye and biogel procedure for his hips.  His ligament surgery was completed when he went to his forever home.  His new family took great care in his rehabilitation, helped him lose weight and today Jake is a happy and healthy boy. His family says, "Jake is the biggest golden we ever saw. He is like a giant teddy bear and we fell for him the minute we saw him.   We fostered him initially while he underwent ligament surgery and adopted him following his recuperation.   Dave was his physical therapist and they have a close bond.   He and his golden brother Rex have filled our house with love and we are so grateful to have them."
