Bagel was the first dog AGR received from Golden Retriever Rescue of El Paso.  He is a 9 year old, very tall male, who was reported to be a great walking partner, loves kids, gets along with other dogs, sweet, loving, very laid back with a wonderful spirit. The surrendering owner had Bagel since he was a puppy and he was an inside pet for 5 yrs until she remarried and then he was housed outside. The owner was forced to move due to a domestic violence situation and needed to surrender Bagel. He had been a very good foster for 2 families in the 2 and a half months that GRREP had him. 

When Bagel, now Big, came into AGR we discovered many problems that were causing Big a great deal of pain.  Big had to have surgery to cure an ear hematoma and to remove a large tumor  from between his shoulders. He also had a large lick granuloma on his front leg that caused a great deal of discomfort which needed to be treated and hip pain due to a disk issue compressing the cauda equine, a nerve bundle in his lower back for which he has had surgery.   Fortunately he has gone to his forever home with one of our Board members and is living the good life with his Golden sister Lily and getting better every day.  He can move better, get up and down without discomfort and play with Lily or just lay around on the cool tile in his new home.
