Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
24-075 Bear is a stunningly handsome 2-year-old male Golden Retriever with a luxurious red coat. The surrendering owners’ work schedules had changed; therefore, they were unable to put in the time necessary to train and work diligently with Bear. Ultimately, they wanted Bear to be with a family that would devote the time and extra attention needed for training, as he is quite an active, enthusiastic and playful dog! In addition, Bear had been suffering with dietary issues that required detailed attention to his food. He needed the ideal home that would help him reach his full potential! He most definitely found that forever place with an adoptive couple and their other dog Lucas. Open paws welcomed Jethro into his new residence. Because of the monitoring and loving care provided by the adopters, Jethro is flourishing and gaining weight. This is such an inspiring narrative of how Bear became Jethro! The adopter related: When we started our journey with Bear, he weighed 47 pounds instead of 70! So, we wanted him to be able to have a new and better life, thus Jethro. Here are two amazing coincidences involving his new name. First, I use my phone for music every day. But for some odd reason, the ear phones wouldn’t work. On to Plan B, which I hardly, if ever, use. I tee up my old IPod. Guess what the first song is? "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull! Then a few days later, Leslie goes to church and the first lesson of the day? It’s about Moses (way in over my head) and his father-in-law, Jethro! In summary, our first rescue, Lucas McCain (The Rifleman) has been one of the great joys in our lives. Due to life’s circumstances, we recently lost our two Goldens, Blake and Charlie and we were without dogs. Now, we hope Lucas and Jethro can become best friends like their predecessors. When you see Lucas and Jethro together, you might think they were littermates! I think we all can agree that Jethro is right where he should be with his new name and family!
