Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
24-088 Mac , now over a year, was an 8-month-old male Golden Retriever at intake. Due to a variety of medical issues, his surrendering owners were unable to meet the financial burdens. He was loved by his foster family who said: It was hard to see him go. His perfect forever home was waiting for him with an adopter and her family, which includes Amelia the resident Golden Retriever and a cat named Matilda ! Mac hit the jackpot with the adopter as she is a veterinarian! With his medical issues, the adopter's expertise will guarantee the best medical care that Mac deserves. Mac has endured a toe amputation along with cancer; his treatment is ongoing, but with his fighting spirit and care being showered upon him, Mac is living his best life. Mac was adopted through our Rescue after facing a few medical hurdles including a cancer diagnosis, hip dysplasia and food allergies. But none of that has dimmed his joyful spirit. This sweet boy has a heart of gold and a playful streak that keeps everyone smiling. Mac has many skills, but this one is quite adorable . Here is how the adopter describes him being a burglar: Mac has a talent for stealing and hoarding every dog toy in the house, proudly collecting them like treasures. When he’s not playing, you’ll find him snuggled up for a cuddle or sleeping in and catching some extra morning ZZZs. With a chuckle the adopter says: He’s recently taken up swimming and is making a splash as he learns the ropes. If you like whipped cream and cheese, then you and Mac will be best friends, as those are his favorite treats! As she states: Why not have a dollop of whipped cream occasionally! Mac finds pleasure in his daily walks as he soaks in the sights and smells. What follows are thoughts the adopter would like to share with our readers: Despite his medical needs, Mac is living life fully, reminding us that love, fun, and a few squeaky toys can go a long way . Mac wants you to know: You gave me a place in your life and forever in your heart .
