25-011 Oliver is a 6-year-old male Golden Retriever. The surrendering owners were unable to cover the cost of medical care that Oliver needed. Luckily, an adoptive family was ready to welcome a dog into their home; Ollie , as they call him, found his forever home with them. Ollie came to them in early April through the kind people at AGR . Described by the adopters as a bundle of energy and joy – Ollie has livened up the household. As soon as he arrived at his new home, he made himself quite comfortable by the back door where he could observe all the happenings in the backyard. He made instant friends with Miss Kitty , their silver short-haired domestic cat. Miss Kitty is the Empress of the Household; she has the final say-so on bringing a new dog into the house. According to the adopters: She gave an enthusiastic, well, as much as a cat deigns to show enthusiasm, thumbs-up for their new resident. Ollie is a lover... of people, food, and long walks in Chaparral Park. Just picture this scenario as described by the adopters: He wants to bustle up to every person on the path to say "Hi! Hello! I'm Ollie ! Damn glad to meet you!" His loving enthusiasm is infectious and people come over to say hi to him and give him a pet or ear scratch. Try not to laugh too much as the adopters give you a view into his walks! He is quite the strong one. When he starts pulling you in this direction and then that direction, it takes two hands and a strong back and legs to keep him reigned in. Ollie seems to be enthusiastically barking, "This blade of grass here. No, this one over there. Nope! Back to the other one over there. OOOH! Look a lamp post. Time to check my pee-mail. ” In their house they call plush toys, “woobies.” As they say: Ollie is a master at the art of Woobie-cide! He is over-joyed whenever he gets a new woobie, but the woobie's demise is not far off. Within minutes, there are cotton fluff balls every where. And he's always quite proud of the quick and thorough job he's done. The love in their sentiments about Ollie will melt your hearts. Ollie is an absolute joy who has brought so much happiness to our house. God bless AGR for bringing him into our now-richer lives. And Ollie would like the adopters to know: I may be furry, but I feel all your love!
