25-027 Ruff  is a Golden mix who was once a scrappy stray; he is now a much-loved companion for his adopter.  Ruff  is food-motivated, quick to sit for treats, and never turns down a good face kiss. The adopter affectionately shares her chats with  Ruff :  "Are you tired of kisses yet,   Ruff?" He just tilts his head, licks my   cheek, and basically is saying, “Not a chance .” 

Since arriving on August 4 th ,  Ruff  has been a work in progress – learning the ropes, unlearning some old habits, and keeping his human on her toes. He started as a marker (the shrink wrap on the furniture says it all!) and wore his male wrap proudly for a while before earning his big graduation. From kennel nights to bed snuggles,  Ruff  has come a long way and now enjoys his  freedom like a champ. Read about some of his favorite activities that the adopter shares:  He loves walks, backyard playtime, and his ongoing rivalry with the elusive lizard and the impossible-to-catch  flies.  The adopter tells him that he won’t catch those flies, but he is determined to keep at it!  He’ll give you his heart, his goofy antics, and the occasional challenge, especially if you tug his collar too quickly. But patience, love, and plenty of treats have helped him  blossom into a trusting, affectionate, one-of-a-kind pup.  Ruff  may still be a “work in progress,” but aren’t we all?  What’s certain is this: he’s a cutie, he’s adored, and he finally knows he’s home.
