25-030 Jake , now over a year old, was a 9-month-old male Golden Retriever at intake. Do these words pop into your head when you read  Jake  was a puppy? Energetic, non-stop action, curious, and vocal! That is  Jake ! Unfortunately,  Jake  was just too much for the surrendering owner. Fortunately, an adoptive couple who are experienced dog owners, were the perfect family for  Jake . He became part of their family in the beginning of June and is now known as  Nico ! Continue reading to hear how his name came to be! Here is a hint to keep you guessing!  Nico’s  family has a tradition of naming their dogs after certain famous drivers. Are there any Formula racing fans? Do any of these names ring a bell? Mario Andretti? Sebastian Vettel? Nico Rosberg?  Jake  is now  Nico  as their other 2 dogs were named  Andretti  and  Sebastian !  Nico’s  owners want everyone to know: 

He is fun, a bit stubborn and loving, simply a wonderful dog! Learning all his new commands...check! Expert on the leash walking...check!  Since he wakes them up every morning, raring to go, they enjoy their walks before the day becomes too hot. Here’s a cute story:  We got him six toy animals and only one has survived!  In  Nico’s  words:  All the toys, the walks, early morning wake-ups make me love you more each day! I am a lucky dog to have been adopted by you!
