Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
26-024 Milka, now being called Lucy, is a 5-month-old female Golden Retriever who is full of energy and love. Her surrendering owners realized they did not have time to raise a puppy. Lucy has found her forever home with an adoptive family. Here is what her new owners have to say about her: Our first few days were filled with what felt like nearly constant testing behaviors – counter surfing; biting furniture, large rocks in the yard, carpet, rugs, as well as our hands, arms, and sometimes faces and more. We had a rocky start that tested our patience, but we didn’t want her to endure another rehoming and knew she desperately needed structure. With lots of diligence with training over the past three weeks, the loving moments have started to outweigh the challenging times. We’re thrilled about how far she’s come and can’t wait to watch her continued growth. She loves showering them with cuddles in the morning. Lucy desperately wants to be a lap dog without knowing she’ll likely outgrow it soon. Lucy’s already picked up the commands sit, shake, down, and wait. She does well on walks and has a sweet temperament and is a social butterfly. They relay this thought: Sand and water lead to instant zoomies, so we might need to make time for a beach trip this summer. Plus, with more training, we’re excited to take her on hikes when the weather cools back down. This is certainly the most perfect family for Lucy!
