The Hometown Christmas Parade in Glendale has been an AGR favorite for many years. A relaxed mile-and-a-half stroll through downtown Glendale, seeing thousands of smiling faces, little children squealing when they see the AGR dogs coming and putting donations in the vest of our dogs makes for a fun morning. Dress in red and Christmas décor for you and you Golden and join others having fun and getting some exercise, too. A family day of fun everyone can participate in. Great exposure for AGR as we participate in this event. Bring you chair and p up(s) to meet and greet people and share the AGR story. Unique Christmas gifts can be purchased from the beautiful Arts and Crafts that we will have on display for humans, canines and even felines. Wearing Christmas apparel is optional. Click here for more information PACC911 Annual Adopt-a-thon Saturday January 14th, 2023 10:00 AM until 03:00 PM Location: Anthem Community Park Map: 41703 N Galivan Peak Parkway Anthem AZ 85086 See all of the animals attending this event. AGR needs help with set-up starting at 7:30 AM, help during the day in our booth, and help with pack-up at 3 PM. Please volunteer! Contact me at dorwigaz@cox.net with whatever part of the day you can be there with or without a dog. Our booth space is #64-65. We will be located on the south end of the first row of booth spaces and nearest the Anthem Veterans Memorial. There will be food trucks present, some non-rescue vendors, and many rescue groups. You may park ONLY in the lot to the south of the Park (Gavilan /Venture Ct) then walk north on the sidewalk to the event area. NO PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED ACROSS THE STREET IN THE SHOPPING CENTER – this is a change from previous years. If you are going to come help with set-up, you may temporarily park in the unloading area immediately to the south of the Park. Please be there no later than 7:30 – we need to unload quickly then move the vehicles. Some PACC911 Rules that MUST be followed: ALL ANIMALS ATTENDING THE EVENT MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE. IF IT COMES TO THE ATTENTION OF PACC911 THAT YOUR GROUP HAS BROUGHT AN UNALTERED ANIMAL TO THIS EVENT, IT CAN RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM PACC911. ALL DOGS MUST HAVE A MARTINGALE COLLAR, SLIP LEAD, CHOKE CHAIN OR SECURE HARNESS ON TO KEEP THEM SAFE. If you do not have one of these, please let me know and I will bring one for you. The excitement is building already for our fun annual event, Paws At The Park. Please mark your calendars right now for Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 11 AM to 3 PM and don’t let anything else interfere with coming to help us celebrate 14 years in business with 1,226 dogs rescued! The event will be held at the West Ramada of Eldorado Park in Scottsdale. There is a map on the registration form. The February newsletters went out in the mail on Thursday. A PATP registration form is included; you can also find one on our Facebook page and on our website. Please fill it out and send it in ASAP. Since we purchase food for this event, we must have registrations in and paid for by March 15. You can pay by sending a Zelle transaction labeled PICNIC or including a check or credit card information with the registration form. If you do a Zelle payment, you can scan the registration form and email it to Deb Orwig at dorwigaz@cox.net Anyone is welcome to attend as long as they register and pay: $16 per person, $8 for children under 10. This is a family event. Dog-friendly dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash in the park. We hope that most of you who adopted a dog from AGR in 2022 and in the first two months of 2023 are able to attend – we will have an adoption recognition ceremony and do a Parade of Rescue around the park. Those of you who have lost a dog in the last year may want to acknowledge that dog in our Rainbow Bridge ceremony – Deb will need a paragraph about the dog and a photo you like ASAP. Questions?
